A New IAABG Training Base (Hebei) for Transfusion Compatibility Testing Technology at the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University
To promote communication and learning among professionals in immunohematology, blood type genomics, molecular biology, and related fields both domestically and internationally, facilitate the clinical promotion and application of new technologies and products, enhance the testing capabilities of clinical transfusion medicine staff, as well as to ensure the safety and efficacy of clinical transfusions, the IAABG has decided to collaborate with medical institutions, higher education institutions, research organizations, or enterprises to establish training bases in accordance with management regulations.
The Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University actively sought to be designated as a "Training Base (Hebei) for Transfusion Compatibility Testing Technology" as outlined in the association’s documents. After the hospital submitted the necessary materials as per the application requirements, the association's leadership conducted a preliminary review and confirmed that it met the criteria set by the association. On August 23, 2024, the IAABG carried out an on-site review and evaluation in Shijiazhuang, Hebei.
The expert panel attentively listened to the introduction of the training base, reviewed relevant materials, conducted an on-site inspection of the training venue, teaching facilities and equipment, instructional materials, and faculty qualifications, observed practical teaching, and posed questions. Following a thorough assessment, deliberation, and evaluation, the expert panel expressed full affirmation and unanimously approved the acceptance. Meanwhile, the awarding ceremony of the IAABG Training Base (Hebei) for Transfusion Compatibility Testing Technology was held. This historic moment was witnessed by over one hundred directors and colleagues of transfusion department and blood centers from hospitals at all levels.
